76 mm regimental gun M1927

infantry support gun

A short-barrelled, low-velocity infantry gun issued down to regimental level, the M1927 gave Red Army infantry their own direct-fire support against bunkers, machine-gun nests and light armour without waiting for divisional artillery, and remained in front-line service throughout the war despite its interwar origins.
