AEC Armoured Car
heavy armoured car
Built on a bus-manufacturer's chassis, the heavily armoured AEC mounted a Valentine tank turret and 2-pounder on a wheeled hull, and from the Mark II a purpose-built turret carrying the 6-pounder, giving reconnaissance units genuine anti-tank punch rather than just an observation platform, and served in the desert and north-west Europe.
