Bazooka
anti-tank rocket launcher
The first practical man-portable rocket launcher, the bazooka let a single infantryman knock out an armored vehicle at close range, though its early rockets struggled against the thickest German armor. It was named for a comedian's homemade musical horn it resembled, and captured examples directly inspired the more powerful German Panzerschreck.
