The standard Italian squad automatic weapon of the war, the Breda 30 was hampered by a fixed, hinged magazine loaded by stripper clip and a design that jammed easily in dusty desert conditions, making it one of the more disliked light machine guns fielded by any major combatant. It nonetheless equipped every Italian infantry squad through the entire conflict.
