Bristol Beaufort

torpedo bomber

The RAF's principal torpedo bomber of the early war years, the Beaufort attacked Axis shipping supplying Rommel's army across the Mediterranean and helped damage the battlecruiser Gneisenau in a Brest harbour raid. Its airframe was later adapted into the far more successful Beaufighter.
