The most successful of the Regia Marina's 'Condottieri' light cruiser generations, these two ships fixed the earlier classes' weak protection with genuinely useful armour while keeping high speed. Both survived the war and continued in Italian service for years afterward, unlike most of their thinner-skinned Condottieri predecessors.
