F-1 grenade

fragmentation hand grenade

Nicknamed 'limonka' ('little lemon') for its shape and colour, the cast-iron F-1 fragmentation grenade traced its design back to a pre-revolutionary French pattern and remained standard Red Army issue throughout the war, valued for its simple lever-and-pin fuze and reliably wide fragmentation radius.
