The Cicogna ('Stork') was Italy's first modern all-metal monoplane bomber and one of the few Italian aircraft exported before the war, seeing combat in the Spanish Civil War before equipping the Corpo Aereo Italiano that briefly bombed England in 1940. It remained in service over the Mediterranean and North Africa despite mounting losses to fighter defences.
