Fiat G.50 Freccia
fighter
Italy's first all-metal monoplane fighter with a retractable undercarriage and enclosed cockpit, the Freccia ('Arrow') was rushed into service but proved underpowered and lightly armed against Hurricanes and Spitfires. It saw action over the Alps in the brief invasion of France, then in Greece, Malta and North Africa.
