Focke-Wulf Fw 189 Uhu

reconnaissance aircraft

A twin-boomed, twin-engined tactical reconnaissance aircraft with an all-glazed nacelle cockpit giving near-panoramic view, it was so effective and hard to shoot down over the Eastern Front that Soviet troops nicknamed it 'the frame' and dreaded its appearance as a sign of an imminent artillery strike.
