GMC CCKW
2.5-ton cargo truck
Universally known as the 'Deuce and a Half', the CCKW's six-wheel-drive chassis hauled everything an army needed — fuel, ammunition, rations, troops — and became the backbone of the Red Ball Express, the round-the-clock truck convoys that kept Patton's army supplied after it outran the rail lines from Normandy.
