tank destroyer / assault gun
Built on the same IS-hull as the ISU-152 but armed with a long, high-velocity 122mm gun instead, the ISU-122 traded explosive punch for penetration, giving heavy self-propelled gun regiments a vehicle purpose-built to kill German heavy tanks at long range during the final offensives into Germany.
