Successor to the SU-152 built on the more capable IS heavy tank chassis, the ISU-152 kept the fearsome 152mm 'beast killer' gun and became a mainstay of Soviet breakthrough operations, used to blast bunkers and buildings apart in the street fighting of Budapest and Berlin as much as to kill tanks.
