King George V-class battleship
battleship
The Royal Navy's newest battleships of the war, Prince of Wales fought Bismarck in the Denmark Strait and King George V helped destroy her three days later, while sister ship Duke of York sank the German battlecruiser Scharnhorst at the Battle of the North Cape. The class's 14-inch main armament was already outclassed by contemporary foreign designs.
