Designed at British inventor Geoffrey Pyke's urging for a planned commando raid on snowbound Norway, the lightweight tracked Weasel ended up hauling supplies over terrain wheeled trucks could never cross, from European snowfields to the volcanic ash and coral rubble of Iwo Jima and Okinawa.
