Marcello-class submarine

Among the most successful Italian submarine classes, several Marcello-class boats deployed to Bordeaux to hunt Allied shipping in the Atlantic under German coordination, alongside the more numerous Mediterranean convoy war. Most of the eleven boats were lost in action, a fate typical of the Regia Marina's submarine arm.
