A superior Czechoslovak-designed tank seized intact when Germany occupied Czechoslovakia in 1939, it equipped several panzer divisions in the invasion of France and the early Barbarossa campaign, and its chassis was recycled for the Marder III and Hetzer tank destroyers to the war's end.
