Shchuka-class submarine

Named 'Shchuka' ('pike'), this was the Soviet Navy's second most numerous submarine class, split across the Baltic, Black Sea, Pacific and Northern fleets, where boats hunted Axis shipping and, in August 1945, Pacific Fleet Shchuka-class boats supported the invasion of Japanese-held Manchuria and the Kuril Islands.
