Delivered by the tens of thousands under Lend-Lease, the rugged six-wheel-drive Studebaker US6 became the standard prime mover for Katyusha rocket launchers and did more than any single vehicle to motorise the Red Army's supply lines, which had relied heavily on horses through 1941-42. Soviet troops affectionately nicknamed it 'Studer'.
