The heaviest tank to see mass production during the war, its sloped Panther-style armour combined with the Tiger's firepower made it nearly invulnerable frontally to Allied tank guns, but crippling weight, fuel shortages, and mechanical unreliability meant most were lost to breakdown or abandonment rather than combat.
