Mitsubishi Ki-67 Hiryu

Widely considered the best Japanese bomber of the war, the Hiryu (Flying Dragon, codenamed Peggy) combined speed, agility and heavy defensive armament in a design good enough that some airframes were adapted to carry the Ohka flying bomb and others were converted into a dedicated heavy fighter. It arrived too late and in too few numbers to change the war's trajectory.
