SU-76

self-propelled gun

Built on a stretched T-70 light tank chassis with a lightly armoured open-topped fighting compartment, the SU-76 was cheap and easy to mass-produce, becoming the second most-produced Soviet armoured vehicle of the war after the T-34. Crews nicknamed it 'Suka' (bitch) for its exposed crew compartment, but it proved invaluable as mobile infantry support.
