T-28
multi-turreted medium tank
A product of the interwar fascination with multi-turreted 'land battleship' tanks, the T-28 mounted a main 76mm gun turret flanked by two smaller machine-gun turrets, giving it heavy firepower for breaking through fortified infantry lines. Mechanically fragile and thinly armoured by 1941 standards, most surviving examples were lost in the border battles of Barbarossa.
