V-2 rocket
ballistic missile
The world's first long-range guided ballistic missile, the V-2 arrived without warning at supersonic speed, making it impossible to intercept or provide sirens against. It was built partly by slave labourers at the Mittelwerk facility, where more people died producing the weapon than were killed by its attacks.
