PPSh-41

submachine gun

Designed for rapid, low-precision mass production, the PPSh-41 armed entire Soviet infantry companies with automatic firepower, especially prized in the close-range ruins of Stalingrad and Berlin where its 71-round drum magazine outgunned a bolt-action rifle at every corner. Over six million were built, and captured examples were prized enough that the Germans issued them under their own designation.
