PTRD-41
anti-tank rifle
A single-shot, bolt-action anti-tank rifle designed and rushed into production within weeks of the German invasion, the PTRD-41 could no longer penetrate the frontal armour of later German tanks but remained lethal against half-tracks, trucks, light armour and bunker slits, and its long reach and stopping power made it a favoured Stalingrad rubble-fighting weapon in the hands of two-man crews.
