Panzer IV

Originally a short-barrelled infantry-support tank, the Panzer IV was re-armed with a long, high-velocity 75mm gun in 1942 to counter the T-34 and remained in production throughout the war, longer than any other German tank. Its adaptable chassis absorbed constant up-armouring and served as the Wehrmacht's true backbone at Kursk and beyond.
